Background of the Study
Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) have become a prominent model for delivering public services and infrastructure projects in Nigeria, especially at the local government level. The Nigerian Constitution provides the legal framework within which such partnerships can be established, ensuring that they align with national laws and public interest. However, the regulation of PPPs often faces challenges related to transparency, accountability, and the protection of public interest.
In Wase Local Government Area (LGA), Plateau State, there have been efforts to utilize PPPs for various developmental projects, including infrastructure development, healthcare, and education. Despite the constitutional framework that supports such initiatives, the execution of PPPs in Wase LGA has encountered issues related to government oversight, private sector accountability, and the protection of public resources. This study explores how constitutional law impacts the regulation and implementation of PPPs in Wase LGA and assesses the challenges faced in ensuring that these partnerships are effective and equitable.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Although constitutional law provides a framework for regulating Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), Wase LGA has faced challenges in ensuring transparency, accountability, and the equitable distribution of benefits from such partnerships. Issues such as lack of proper monitoring, private sector exploitation, and inadequate legal frameworks undermine the effectiveness of PPPs in the local government area. This study aims to assess the role of constitutional law in regulating PPPs and ensuring that these partnerships contribute to sustainable development in Wase LGA.

1.7 Scope and Limitations of the Study
This study focuses on Wase Local Government Area, Plateau State, and assesses how constitutional law impacts the regulation of Public-Private Partnerships. Limitations include difficulty in obtaining comprehensive data on PPP agreements and local government practices.
